Advising and Academic Support

Students have access to multiple sources of advising once they declare the major. Megan Banaszak advises students on the technical aspects of the major. She helps students plan their class schedule, makes sure they’re on schedule to graduate and discusses general questions about the major. Students will also be assigned a faculty mentor based on academic and professional interests. Faculty mentors can help students find internship opportunities and discuss career aspirations. Professor Samer Alatout is the Director of Undergraduate Studies and is available to meet with students to help them through their journey in the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology. Prospective students are welcome to contact Megan Banaszak or Samer Alabout for more information.
