Matthew Zinsli, a Sociology graduate student, received a Fulbright Hays award to support his Ph.D. research in France and Ecuador. His project aims to unpack the politics of declaring “denominations of origin” across different geographic scales, from the very local to the global. The total of his project is “Legitimizing terroir for development: A multi-sited ethnographic case study of knowledge and food politics.”
