Sirkka Miller

She/hers

Sirkka Miller is a Ph.D. student in the department of Civil Society and Community Research in the School of Human Ecology. Her research centers on grassroots community organizing, global struggles for climate justice and decolonization, and the commons. She uses participatory and community-based methods to engage with the contemporary interactions of two long-established processes: the severing of community ties to land by the forces of capitalism, and the intentional strengthening and rebuilding of those ties as a form of climate justice activism. Her current research project examines the internal politics of anti-pipeline coalitions.
