Alexis is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and Community and Environmental Sociology. Her current research project explores the workplace as a site of environmental injustice. She combines participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and spatial mapping tools to interrogate how the notion of ‘expendability’ is deployed and experienced in the workplace to reproduce social inequality for marginalized workers.
