Undergraduate Conference Scholarship

Travel awards will be made available to undergraduate student majors in Community and Environmental Sociology for participating in or attending a domestic conference to a maximum of $700. The student should submit a statement that includes a description of the conference, how it is relevant to the student’s academic advancement, and a proposed budget that includes cost estimates for transportation, lodging, meals, and registration. One award will be made each year with a lifetime maximum of one award per student. Within budgetary constraints, the Community and Environmental Sociology Department Awards Committee will review applications and grant awards that conform to these criteria. On condition of receiving the award, each student will submit a report to the department describing her experience. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
